If I’m heading to Gangnam, this neighbourhood is usually my favourite spot to hang out in. The beautiful tree lined street of Garosugil is home to lots of of cool international brands and has almost a European kind of feeling to it. Not only are there unique and stylish shops but also dozens of cool cafes, bars, and restaurants making it a great spot to explore and eat in.
Cafe Able – A healthy and hearty brunch and lunch spot that really focuses on fresh foods, healthy fresh juices, and smoothies. The cafe has a cool and natural theme that makes it seem a million miles from the busy business district of Gangnam.
Teow Thai – The Thai street food restaurant was first set up to cater to the many Thai cosmetic surgery tourists to the area. The restaurants boasts a tuktuk which has been turned into a table you can sit at. The food is cheap and tasty and an ideal place to stop and refuel after shopping.
Chick Peace – The middle-eastern style pita and falafel restaurant is one of the cheapest eateries in the area. Their salads and stuffed pitas are fantastic and very tasty. Non carnivores should also be impressed by their many vegan options such as the excellent roasted cauliflower.
Bad Farmers – One of the original and most successful salad joints. Bad farmers offers a variety of salad bowls and fresh juices for when you fancy something a little bit healthier. They also have outdoor seating.
Magnum– A cool bar and restaurant run by an Italian-American family. The bar offers a huge variety of spirits and cocktails, whilst the kitchen serves up classic Italian-American cuisine. They have live music at night too.
Normal – The little brother to the famous and incredibly expensive Ryunique, this second location serves many of the same fantastic dishes, just as a lower price. Their set menu is very hard to beat for quality and price, making it the perfect location for a meal when you want to impress without breaking the bank.
Conversation – This dessert shop serves up some of the most beautiful cakes in existence. They are just absolutely incredible to look at, as well as being ginormous. There is an amazing array to choose from and they also serve some fruity and funky drinks.

The Alley – The yummiest Taiwanese Bubble tea opened up on Garosugil last year. The black sugar bubble tea is an absolute delight. It combines the delicious flavours of tea, milk, and burnt caramel. I honestly can’t get enough of it. They also have seating inside and out.
