EZ Shop

Hello from Bali everyone!!! I am currently lying on a sun lounger next to a gorgeous private pool and getting drunk on a deliciously fruit cocktail. Being the selfless, kind and wonderful girl that I am though, I worked extra hard last week to make sure that I had plenty of posts about yummy treats to keep you going whilst I am off enjoying myself.  So here’s a little post about where to shop and find those elusive foreign items.

I often receive comments telling me that I use far too many hard to get ingredients. Living in Itaewon I know I have life easier than most. However it is possible to get these things even when you live out in the sticks. I didn’t always live in the heart of Seoul and had to learn to be resourceful. No matter how hungover I was, I would never leave Seoul without a trip to the foreign food mart, buying as many lovely things as I could carry. Obviously for those living down south, trips to Seoul may not be as regular, but there are still plenty of ways to get the things you want.

EZShop is a great online site that will deliver all manner of lovely products to your home within 2-3 days of you placing an order. They have 1000′s of awesome items, scoured from here there and everywhere. It’s more or less like an online version of the foreign food mart.

It would be impossible for me to write everything they sell but here’s a quick run down of the hard to find or coveted items.

Meat – lamb chops, rack of lamb, bacon, steaks, sausages, chorizo, salami, and prosciutto.

ze2

Vegetarian Specialties  - Vegetarian ham, vegetarian steaks, vegan chocolate chips, soy burgers, and vegetarian sausage.

ez1

Frozen – French fries, waffles, tortillas, spring rolls, puff pastry, hash browns, ravioli, smoked salmon, and scallops.

ze4

Cheese and Dairy – Sour cream, ricotta, Parmesan, Gorgonzola, Cheddar, Cheshire, cream, fresh mozzarella, feta, halloumi, Gouda, muenster, Gruyere and Emmental.

ze3

Dried - Spices, condiments – Sriracha, maple syrup, food coloring, taco seasoning and couscous.

ze5

Sweets and crisps – Twizzlers, Haribo gummy bears, Reece’s pieces, salt and vinegar kettle chips, Pop tarts, spinach and artichoke chips, Frito’s and pretzels.

ze6

As well as tonnes of food, they also sell beauty products, home gadgets, and English books for those who have yet to buy a kindle. Yes this site is more expensive than if you sourced it yourself. I’d say a 10-20% mark up on everything, but realistically how much is your time worth. If you live far away from your nearest Costco, paying a bit extra to get it delivered is worth your while.

You can pay using a Korean or foreign bank card, or just do a transfer. If you spend over 250,000 and pay by bank transfer shipping is absolutely free. Split an order with a few mates after pay day and you’re laughing! Even if you do live reasonably close to Seoul, with all this rain, it’s well worth paying a few extra bucks to get it all delivered. Happy shopping everyone!

Hummus in Korea

hummus

Ah hummus, there is nothing like a big tub with pita bread or chips while watching a movie. Sadly too many people in Korea, are living a life without hummus. I can’t bear to think about the suffering that some of you have to bear, constantly longing for this delicious yet healthy dip. For those living in and around Itaewon, finding hummus is no problem at all. You can even buy my hummus if you are lucky enough to live in Hae Bang Chon. But what about everyone else? You can make your own of course, check out my recipes here or here. But for some, all that soaking and blending is just too much hard work. You shouldn’t  be deprived  of all that chickpea goodness just because your lazy. Don’t worry salvation is here in the form of Hummus In Korea.

Hummus in Korea, delivers hummus directly to your door. Luckily for us delivery companies are setting up all the time, bringing us more and more of the foods  that we miss from home. So now you can have your hummus delivered, and eat it too. So it was about time I got to try some of this fabulous hummus. Coming in 6 delicious flavours (garlic, red pepper, olive, egg plant, jalapeno and spicy),  there is something for everyone. Prices vary between 5,550 – 7,000. You can buy packs of 4 (24,000) to save money or just choose your favourites.

I’m not going to lie, I tried five. After all, fat girls don’t get fat by just choosing one flavour. They were all good, but here are my favourite 3.

My top spot is a close call but I would have to give it to the roasted red pepper. A glorious orange colour and delicious taste of roasted red peppers throughout. Couldn’t get enough of this one. It was just as tasty as I hoped it would be.

hummus5

Second place was surprisingly jalapeno heaven. It was the one I was least looking forward to, and thought I could just palm it off on my boyfriend. However after one fingerful, I knew he wouldn’t be getting any. It had the essence and flavour of jalapeno without being too hot or spicy. It was perfectly mild and delicious. In fact I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this one since and will have to try having a go at making my own. Be sure to add this one to your order.

hummus3

My third favourite was probably the crazy for garlic. The regular hummus we all know and love with extra garlic. It was well balanced and the garlic was not at all over bearing, like some can be.

hummus7

To make things even better for you, hummus in Korea sell pita bread too. Sold in packs of 1 for 1,500 or 3 for 4,000 don’t forget to add a few to your order.

hummus4

Fat girl I hear you cry, how can we get our hands on this wondrous hummus? Well here’s how. Click here to get to the website, fill out the form and click place order. Do a simple bank transfer to pay and sit back and relax while you wait for your delicious delivery. Delivery costs 4,500 and they deliver  Tuesday- Friday and it generally takes between 24-48 hours. Pretty cool right. Visit the website for more details and to place orders.

7 day meal planning

dinner 2

dinner 3

Last week my lovely friend Miles asked me to help him to learn to cook. To say he is a novice is an understatement. He can’t even tell the difference between a courgette and a carrot. So I decided I would impart him with some of my wisdom and try and help him make a few meals. He is on a diet to help him lose weight, so we prepared some of my skinnier recipes. I only had so much time to give so we decided to spend one night cooking and make meals for the whole week. I have now realized what a wonderful idea this is. Especially for those who find cooking a chore. A few devoted hours on a Sunday and you will have a fridge and freezer full of healthy meals to last you the whole week.  So this week I even decided to have a go myself. It’s really up to you what you want  to make but here are just a few of the different things we made.

5 salads, consisting of lettuce, cucumber, whole cherry tomatoes and sliced red peppers. If you don’t add the dressing and you seal them in airtight containers they should at least last for 5 days. That’s one lunch every day of the week.

dinner

12 chicken  burritos for easy dinners. 3 minutes in the microwave and dinner is served. Cut the cheese and sour cream out of my recipe and they are a pretty healthy dinner.

126

A giant batch of my roast vegetable couscous. You can then just eat it by itself or add it to one those salads.

A batch of gazpacho which could be served as  a meal in itself, or used to top wholemeal pasta and a can of tuna. Tasty and easy, they can also be made in advance and used to top the salads or eaten as a hearty dinner.

gazpacho

A big batch of my Cajun chicken casserole. We portioned it out into individual containers and added brown rice and broccoli to each one. Just like a home-made version of a microwavable meal.

dinner 4

I also had a BBQ to attend at the weekend to which I was bringing a potato salad and a coleslaw. I made twice as much and put the extra into containers in the fridge. That way I had quick sides all ready made for dinners or something fun to add to my salads.

I also marinated a packet of cut up chicken pieces using one of my favourite marinades. Then I can just put a couple of pieces into the oven when I get home and serve with the coleslaw and potato salad and have myself a home-made BBQ for dinner.

chicken

There are so  many things you can do to save time, if you do them in one go. Slice your vegetables and put them into separate containers then you can just take a few of each to make a quick and easy stir fry. Or roast those veggies in the oven if you have one. You can also portion out fruit into zip-lock bags in the freezer, ready to use in a quick smoothie for breakfast. The possibilities are endless and a bit of forward planning will definitely help you to stay healthy if you’re on a new Summer diet. So get down to your nearest Daiso and buy yourself as many containers as you can carry. Miles’s shopping for the week cost around 65,000 and that made 28 meals. He had virtually nothing in the way of condiments in his cupboards so if you keep a well stocked pantry it will be even cheaper.

iDalicious Homemade Bakery

hello kitty

A few weeks ago it was my birthday. Like any respectable 28 year old girl I yearned for a Hello Kitty birthday cake, lets face it, who doesn’t yearn for one?  However, considering my boyfriends lack of baking skills the chances of me getting one without making it myself were slim, very slim (not unlike myself). I set him the task of trying to find a cake shop that might make it for me but where in the world would I find such a thing in Seoul? It seems that cake heaven was not actually too far away. The lovely Dali of iDalicious Homemade Bakery creates and makes her own wonderful cakes and will custom make anything you want.

My boyfriend sent a few ideas of what he wanted, then she sent him back several pictures to choose from. You can then pick the size of your cake. We went for the medium which cost around 30,000. The design was amazing and the cake was delicious. I was thrilled when it was presented to me and it made all my birthday wishes come true. So if you have someone specials birthday coming up and you want something different, then iDalicous bakery is the place to go. It beats a crappy cake from Paris Baguette any day of the week. You can contact Dali through her facebook page and check out all the pictures of her delightful cakey creations.

Taiwan

Dear readers, sorry for my absence this past week but I have been very busy entertaining my best friend in the world, Miss Rachel Verney. I have busy showing her the sights of Seoul, then we took a jaunt to Taipei for Buddha’s birthday.

Taipei was not the foodie trip I had imagined it to be, as we spent a large quantity of out time drinking. I did manage to pack in a few culinary delights for you to enjoy which I shall present to you now.

Most of the eating that we did went on at our Hotel. We decided to treat ourselves and stay at the W. It certainly did not disappoint. The food was all spectacular, especially the breakfast buffet. Highlights included the french toast, fried rice, Eggs Benedict, and Caesar salad served in a giant bowl made from Parmesan.

Lazing by the pool can really take it out of you so to keep up our strength we ordered some chicken quesadillas and french fries with truffle mayo’ and a truffle, rocket, and fontina cheese pizza.

Being the lazy trollops we are we also enjoyed various delights from the room service menu, including a Reuben sandwich, a club sandwich and some bircher muesli.

The star of the W show really was the cocktails, I was too drunk to remember all the names so i’ll just show you the pictures instead. They also came served with the best free bar snacks ever, test tubes filled with potato chips and wasabi peas. I dread to think how many of these I consumed. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t account to your daily calorie allowance if they are free though.

You possibly know how I adore the 7-11 . Although no Hong Kong, Taipei 7-11 still had a few favourites within its grasp, inclusing malteasers, mixed berry skittles and Kinder buenos. So not too bad a haul.

I had made plans to visit Din Tai fung whilst there but didn’t get around to it. We still managed to have plenty of soup dumplings though, as there was a handy restaurant in the department store next to the hotel. We tried the usual pork ones, a curry and leek, and a few vegetarian varieties. We came here twice so I am quite sure I managed to get my quota of dim sum.

Sadly our trip ended on a bad note when we managed to lose my bag filled with duty free goodies somewhere between the taxi and the house. Some lucky son of a gun will be feasting upon my Godiva goodies and Mango vodka as we speak. There’s $60 I’ll never see again. Though as they say worse things have happened at sea. All in all it was a great trip and a good time was had by all.

Mediterranean food in Korea

A mixture of work and hangovers has caused to me to neglect my blog once again. Though hopefully this post and its deliciousness for all will make up for it. Last week I was lucky enough to try some of the tasty dips from Mediterrranean food in Korea. Zayd the man behind the brand has come up with scrumptious recipes that he ships all over Korea. Yes, I speak the truth, deliciousness is just a mere click away and all without leaving the comfort of your own sofa.

Things like Greek yoghurt and ricotta cheese are reasonably easy to find when you’re living in Seoul, but outside of Korea’s capital city it can be next to impossible. I have previously posted a recipe to make your own Greek yoghurt. However mine doesn’t seem to come out quite as creamy as this one. Zayd’s Greek yoghurt (6,900 for 650ml) is as authentic as it gets. If you are sick of overly sweet mass-produced Korean yoghurt and are craving the real deal, this is where you need to come. He also sells  extra thick greek yoghurt (7,500 for 190ml)for those you craving a true creamy delight. This would be amazing in the place of cream for a healthy dessert.

greek-yogurtextra-thick-yogurt

I have always held my own dips in high regard. But their tzatziki (8,000 for 190g) blows me out of the water. It’s just so fresh, tangy, and tasty… on top of some lamb and home-made flat bread it would be absolutely amazeballs!

tzatziki

I was also able to try his eggplant dip (6,500 for 150g). Again this dip was da bomb. Suffice to say it rocked my taste buds’ world. If you’re hankering for it I suggest you order a big batch pronto.

baba_ghanoush

We also got the banana bread (2,000 a slice), you could smell the banana as soon as I opened it. I’m not particularly fond of banana bread but my boyfriend munched it down post haste. He gave it the thumbs up.

Mediterranean food in Korea already have a fabulous range of dips and dairy products but they have just stated making falafel (5,500 for 6 pieces and 1 pita bread)!!! I’ve been dreaming about those little beauties for some time now. I have almost resorted to making my own. Next time I host a girls night in (or Niall goes to the pub) I will be sure to stock up and have a dip ridden time of my life. To see the full menu and find out more details about delivery, check out their website. Happy falafelling!

iHerb

I have been hearing a lot about iHerb over the last few months and I thought it was about time I gave them a try. They are primarily a health food store but they ship all over the world. They have tonnes of ingredients that are very hard to come by in Korea especially if you are not living in Seoul.

Just to name just a few they have: baking ingredients, beans, herbs, spices, dressings, marinades, couscous, quinoa, tea, coffee, vitamins, herb extracts, dried fruit, herbs, nuts, oils, stock cubes, vinegar, Kettle crisps, and chocolate!

They have an expansive range of herbs and spices, I picked up cumin seeds, Cajun seasoning,  and Mexican seasoning. Although some of these things are available at the foreign food mart in Itaewon , there are so many people living far away that cant get to them. Also the prices are very cheap, its much easier to order online than go out trekking in the cold and I live 15 minutes away.

Here’s a picture of my first order:

005

I am a big fan of apple cider vinegar. I discovered it about 6 months ago and have been an avid fan ever since. There has been a lot written about it but I think one of the many benefits of taking a spoonful in water twice a day is weight-loss. When ever I return from holiday a few pounds heavier I start up on the apple cider vinegar and the pounds are usually gone within a week. However I never have a large enough supply to keep this up for a significant amount of time. I haven’t found anywhere in Korea when you can get it that includes the active mother which is vital. Now I know they have it on iHerb I can order until my hearts content.

I ordered a bag of quinoa. I used to use it a lot back home so was disappointed not to find it here. It is now available at Emart, but it’s pretty expensive. But an order from Iherb was lovely and cheap.

I also ordered some wheat bran for my muesli. I love muesli and eat it on top my fruit and yogurt for breakfast everyday. However too many of the pre-packaged ones you can buy here, have so much sugar in them you might as well be eating chocolate for breakfast. I’ve always liked making my own, chocking it full of fruit, nuts, and seeds to make it healthier. I’ve always had trouble finding bran or wheat flakes so now I have a large supply. They do have wheat flakes at high street market though if you live in the Itaewon area.

I also bought some instant miso soups for instant work snacks and some kettle crisps. Just because I love them. My total order with the discount and shipping was $29.98!

Delivery is a flat $4 for 15 pounds of goodies. An absolute bargain! I placed my order on Tuesday and it was ready and waiting for me on the Monday. So not long at all to wait really. I’ve already placed another two orders since then which I’m very excited to receive.

The best part about I -herb is you only have to enter you details once. They will retain your address and credit card so you just have to click a button to place your next order. Although I might add it’s also a little a dangerous, if you’re anything like me. At 3am last week I decided on a whim I’d like to give the master cleanse a go. I selected all my items and just one click later they were on their way. If I had had to get up and find my bank card and address I probably wouldn’t have ended up getting them so beware if you are a shopaholic like me. I very much doubt I will last very long on the cleanse but its only cost 20,000 for everything including the postage and packing. That’s less than a pizza, so I can hardly go wrong.

They also have a freebies section, so with every order you can get one free gift, how cool is that?

If all that wasn’t enough you can also get a big saving on your first order, just use my gift code MRV792 and you could save loads, $10 on a $40 spend and $5 for under. Its worth spending more though as mine actually got cheaper the more I put on to it. You can visit this lovely online store here.  Happy shopping!

The Pinoy Mart

Finding foreign product in Korea can be very tricky. However if you know where to go there’s not much you can’t find these days. I have lived in Korea for over 4 years now and the change since when I first arrived has been immense. The foreign food mart in Itaewon has tripled in size and there are new stores selling to the foreign masses opening all the time. There has also been a rise in businesses making food to be shipped and sold all over Korea; Gringos, Aliens Day Out, Third Coast kitchen, Fog City Cafe, The Biltong Guy Shop, and  Gavins Sausages just  to name just a few. I myself have even decided to start catering to the foreign food market by making and selling a few of my favourite things in The Pinoy Mart. I’m not suggesting that Korea become completely westernised,  but for those of us living a in Korea a taste  of home just makes us feel good. I will certainly be very grateful for the Korean supermarkets when I decide to return home and will be able to buy all of my favourite Korean foods.

075

For a reasonably small store the Pinoy Mart is very well stocked. They have a huge variety of foods and ingredients. I have tried to take as many pictures as possible to show what they have.

For the bakers among you they have various baking supplies such as powder sugar, chocolate chips, pie crusts, sprinkles, flavoured extracts, food dyes and plenty of Betty Crocker boxed mixes and ready-made icing.

051 052 049

They also have a refrigerator chocked full with  dairy products including, cream cheese, ricotta,  cottage cheese, butter, cream, half and half, spray cream and a large variety of cheeses. My dips and hummus can also be found there.

067 066 065

There are snacks and candy galore, including Peanut-butter Cups, Twizzlers, Tim Tams, Cheetos, Sour cream ruffles and plenty more.

053 058 056

The drinks selection hosts a wide variety of beers and soft drinks. They also have some pre-made mixers such as Margarita mix and Bloody Mary mix, which I can personally vouch for. They have cans of Clamato, the Canadian’s favourite beverage. They also have a freezer filled with goodies, along with canned and dried food and a large selection of herbs and spices, as well as other goods.

054 061 055 062 068

If there is anything you want and they don’t have they will try their best to get it for you. So pay them a visit and stock up on my goodies if you are in the area.

The Pinoy Mart is located in Hae Bang Chon. Take a train to Noksapyeong station (line 6) . Walk straight out of exit 2 for about 200 meters and take the first left and walk straight along the road with all the kimchi pots. Keep walking along that road for about 200 meters. You will pass by Noa, HBC Galbi Jib, and Burgermine. Its on the right just next to a chicken restaurant and opposite Fix. You can call them on 010-2664-2221.

Hong Kong

Happy New Year!!! I do hope 2013 is treating you all well so far. I have returned from my trip and back at work waiting for time to pass. Hence why I am blogging right now. I had a marvellous time in Hong Kong and it was filled with many delicious delights that I plan to tell you all about. After travelling to many cities around Asia I have come to learn that Seoul pretty much blows in food terms in comparison to other places like Shanghai, Tokyo and Bangkok. But in Hong Kong I really hit the motherload. I knew it would be good in terms of British fare but I never imagined it could be that good.

Even in the humble 7-11 they sell a bounty of delights (including Bounties!) Here’s just a little summary of what I found/bought  in no particular order.  Malteasers, Malteasers chocolate rabbits, white chocolate Malteasers, Kinder Buenos (yes they have them here now too), white chocolate Kinder Bueno, Time Out, Picnics, Cadbury’s chocolate, Kettle Crisps, Ribena (yes I love Ribena) English magazines and Hienz baked beans. I’m sure there was plenty more I forgot but those were my majors.

Marks & Spencer!!! To truly appreciate Marks and Sparks I think you really do have to be British, its like a national institution who everyone shops at for something. However the highlight of this fabulous store apart from the old staples like pants and socks is their food. Just a browse around their well stocked aisles is enough to bring a smile to my face. In Hong Kong they have a store just for the food. I have already visited the Kuala Lumpur and Shanghai branches and had my hopes well and firmly up and luckily I was not disappointed. If I lived in Hong Kong I would go there every day, I’m considering relocating just for that reason alone! On my lovely and booze induced shop I gathered, salt and vinegar fat reduced crisps (you can eat twice as many), a samosa, goats cheese, cheese and chive dip, garlic onion dip and their very fabulous wasabi pea dip (I shall be making my own batch of this in the very near future). Giant chocolate buttons, M&S skips, and a coronation chicken sandwich.

Whist we were there my main focus was eating plenty of dim sum. There are several restaurants there which have gained Michelin stars for their dim sum and I was very keen to try them out. Our first stop was to try Tim Ho Wan . Famed for their crispy pork buns and long queues we arrived eager to sample their goodies. However when we arrived at 12pm we were informed that they wouldn’t be giving out any more tickets for the next seating until 4pm. I knew we would have to wait but 4 hours was insane. We decided to try another Michelin star dumpling restaurant not too far away. We arrived at One Dim Sum Chinese restaurant and were given a number and told to come back in 50 minutes by the lovely English speaking manager. He recommended we take a walk around the flower market nearby but we had already spotted a pub two doors down and sat in the sunshine drinking pints and cocktails (a concept which seems unreal today when my pipes have frozen and its -15 outside). We came back and were seated in minutes. We decided to try a variety of treats. Sweet and sour wantons, shrimp shumai, baked pork buns and the pork dumplings. Everything was fantastic and we left feeling full, happy and a little drunk. The whole meal was only 15,000 for the both of us and it was amazing.

432 426 423

Still keen to go to Tim Ho Wan we decided to try the other location at the IFC mall. On our way through the labyrinth of shops we spotted a huge group of people waiting outside of Crystal Jade.  Since visiting the branch in Myeong-dong which you can read my review for here, we actually found out how famous it was. We took our number and were told to come back in 30 minutes. We went down to visit Tim Ho Wan while we were waiting and once again found the queue to be immense. However someone told us that you can just get a takeaway and it will be ready in 15 minutes. We went back to crystal jade and  feasted on their amazing soup dumplings. I have to say they were slightly better in Hong Kong but only just and in Korea they were a lot cheaper and you got more so I would urge you to visit them ASAP. We also didn’t have to wait for a table there. We tried various dishes, some fried lo mien noodles,  sweet and sour chicken, and pork buns.

293 292 282

After that momentous meal we stopped by Tim Ho Wans and picked up an order of all their treats to go. I have to say the baked pork buns were awesome, especially considering how cheap they were but not in a million years would I queue up hours to eat there. Get your order to go and save yourself the trouble. The pork buns are not to be missed,  though sadly I forgot to take a picture but they were magical, soft and crispy and sprinkled with sugar. They were deliciously sweet and savoury all at the same time. I can also recommend the pork and cheese dumpling, soft, juicy and full of flavour. The turnip pancake should definitely be avoided though as it was rather strange for want of a better word. We had a giant bag of food of Michelin star cuisine all for 20,000. The cheapest Michelin starred food in the world! I guess it’s what keeps the punters coming back over and over again and the queue incredibly long.

My last restaurant was Aqua Tokyo Aqua Roma. We booked in for the champagne brunch after we failed to get in at the Intercontinental, however I was very glad it turned out this way. We got there at 12pm and didn’t leave until 4pm. It was spectacular, all the champagne, mimosa’s and Bloody Mary’s you could drink (you know how I love a good Bloody Mary!). Then a mix of Italian and Japanese dishes brought to your table but everything was unlimited. Even the main courses, I think we mustered about 10 between the 4 of us plus 2 dessert plates, 7 plates of pasta, 2 anti pasto, a sushi plate  and a very large bowl of endamame beans. I don’t know where I managed to put it all especially with all that drink but it was gorging of the highest calibre with a spectacular view of Hong Kong harbour. I am shocked that this place wasn’t packed to the rafters with a waiting list. The meal cost 100,000 per person and considering the quality of food and drink I don’t now how they could have made a profit from us. It was one of the best meals I have ever eaten and I’ve been to some pretty fancy places in my time. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Hong Kong, it was far better than the Park Hyatt in Tokyo which cost the same but only came with one glass of champagne. Here’s just a few pictures of what we had. I would go every Sunday if we were lucky enough to live there and I shall now be hunting to find the Korean equivalent.

Fat Girl – products!

038

So after month and months of thinking and considering if this is a good idea, I  have finally decided to bring out a few of my culinary creations to sell. I will only be making them on a small scale, I am not a production line! They will be sold at the Pinoy Mart in HBC. I chose the Pinoy Mart for two reasons, number one it is very close, and number two the lady there is very lovely (basically she let me). I have lots of ideas for things I will be selling, depending on the time and season. First up is my Onion Jam and Tomato and Herb Focaccia bread. So be sure to get down there quick and secure yourself some before its all gone.

Here’s a sneak preview of my bread and jams. Are you impressed with my label making skills? Who would have thought I’d had it in me, certainly not me after the great christmas cookies decorating dilemma. Clearly I do have a slight touch of creative talent somewhere within me. For those of you not familiar with onion jam, it is amazeballs for want of a better word. Sticky, sweet and slightly sour oniony goodness. Goes amazingly on burgers, cheese and crackers, and cream cheese bagels.

026

I also decided to sell my tomato and herb focaccia bread, mainly because I think it’s pretty damn good and one of the best things I make. Incidentally it goes perfectly with the onion jam.

030043

So if you would like to stock up on some Fat Girl Onion Jam or Focaccia bread then head to the Pinoy Mart in Hae Bang Chon. To get to the Pinoy Mart take a train to Noksapyeong station (Line 6). Walk straight out of exit 2 for about 200 meters and take the first left and walk straight along the road with all the kimchi pots. Keep going straight along that road, you will pass Noa, Burgermine, and a chicken shop. The Pinoy Mart is just on your right opposite Fix.
